The Deadliest Highway in the World

Many people don't know this but the Seward Highway is the deadliest road along Turnagain Arm. There is no highway along Turnagain Arm that is deadlier, that is fact. Now, I hate to get all negative first thing in the morning but I have had a lot of coffee and this deadly road thing must stop. Now shape your hand into a fist, raise it above your head and say "Bloggers Unite!" If you are currently at work you might not want to yell but at least mouth the words. Now come up with some ideas on how to fix the drivers on this damn road. Murkowski has the bright idea of taking our appropriated Seward Highway money and putting it toward bridges to nowhere. Am I the only one here who wants to perforate his nether regions with Halibut hooks? We need more pullouts and an Indian Bypass and perhaps a train between Girdwood and Anchorage. We can all take turns running it, can't be that hard. In the meantime I think I will put up pictures of the dead around town so folks might take notice. I would like to also thank Dawn Rossi for getting her comments on the news last night, she blamed slow drivers who won't pull over when there are goddamn 30 cars behind them. Amen sister! Now read this.

Incidentally this is not a picture from an accident on the Arm, obviously, because there are no flames or strewn body parts.

Having made the commute enough times to have some credit here I want to add my two cents. It wouldn't take bridge money to fix the problem and it could be done in just a few days. Simply add concrete dividers along the death curves (Indian, Falls, Windy, Rainbow, Beluga and Bird). Put the temporary ones in for now. Then put up a sign reminding people of the simple math... it's only 25 miles from Girdwood to the Rabbit Creek Bridge in Anchorage. About 5 of these miles already have passing lanes. If some asshole slows you down by 20 MPH the rest of the way it is only costing you 8 minutes. I know it's really fucking frustrating but can't you just chill out and enjoy one of the most beautiful roads in the world for an extra 8 minutes if it means you're going to live longer?
