The Girdwood Posse cheated death once again this past Sunday on a return trip to Byron Glacier. This time they came prepaired though and a it wasn't long before the viscious chippings of ice axes and crampons echoed through the valley. Please note that a mighty avalanche has sealed the entrance of what would have been an excellent party cave. Image one shows Lt. Dan approaching the scene, image two displays WilliShrinx's prowess on a glacial wall. (note Meeshell in the way back- on avalanche patrol) The highlight of the day was the apre-trek hot chocolate at Portage Lodge- with whip cream of course.
